Tehran is prepared to restart atomic talks with Washington on condition that it is approached with "dignity" and "respect", Iran's top diplomat has announced.

Abbas Araghchi said exclusively dialogue produced results, and disclosed recent overtures had originated from intermediaries to resume negotiations with the American leadership. He claimed Iran did not have unreported enrichment locations, and Tehran was not yet able to authorize the global atomic watchdog to inspect attacked atomic facilities for safety concerns.

Walking a Difficult Route

The foreign minister is navigating a complex course since Iran aims to avoid be perceived to be acting from a stance of weakness, and he emphatically stated that Iran had emerged stronger defensively and psychologically from the joint assault on its enrichment centers in June.

He was speaking at a strategic meeting in Tehran where he reaffirmed that Iran had "an absolute privilege to enrich uranium within its borders that it will perpetually retain" – the main reason of the impasse in the previous talks.

Earlier Discussions Suddenly Ended

The prior phases of discussions between the US and Iran were concluded unexpectedly and hostile termination on 12 June when the Israeli government, with American backing, attacked Iranian nuclear sites in a fortnight-long engagement that culminated with the US president declaring the sites had been obliterated. Following this, EU nations exercised their privilege to restore global restrictions, but Iran maintains they have not had a major impact.

Magic Solution Offered

Iran's diplomats stated they felt they had attained a "perfect agreement" to the nuclear fuel concern in prior discussions, when it was agreed an local partnership with American involvement could refine atomic fuel. Each party would have been able to assert triumph since domestic enrichment would have remained and the US could be certain that Iran's enrichment initiative was entirely non-military.

It had not been agreed in the discussions that US nuclear scientists could work on Iranian soil, but that was a natural consequence of the cooperative offer. He asserted the assaults started with a Washington's ultimatum for an total Iran submission and concluded with an absolute demand for a halt to hostilities.

Iran is convinced the initial Israeli attacks were mounted with complete American awareness and cooperation, making faith difficult to rebuild.

Dialogue Stays the Ultimate Resolution

The foreign minister declared: "It was not Iran that had abandoned diplomacy; it was America and the western countries that had consistently tried to dictate their demands during the negotiations. Negotiations can still be viable and continues the final answer to settle conflicts, but its standards, regulations and tenets must be followed."

Repair and Reconstruction

In what is characterized by Tehran representatives as the conflict of recovery and reconstruction, the foreign minister stated he was assured Iran's military capacities "have significantly improved than prior to 13 or 14 June of this year. All our capabilities have been restored. We gained many lessons from this war; we have discovered our own weaknesses and the weaknesses of the adversary."

He continued: "We effectively endured this engagement. Our atomic expertise, which they aimed to destroy, continues to exist. The sites and gear, if destroyed, will be rebuilt; what is essential is the resolve of the nation of Iran and then the unity of the country that they aimed at, but failed to shatter. The Iranian people have developed more powerful, more integrated, and more backing of the administration and the country in the aftermath of this invasion."
