I will dominate 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote next month's boxing match.
Former two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive mismatch - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
In spite of these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
However, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's largest financial successes, consistently making substantial paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As both boxers participated in the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually happening.
